Significance and what an artefact tells us.
The basic definition of artifact, is an object from an ancient historical period in time or place which has been excavated. Artifacts in Akrotiri especially, are important for interpreting more about ancient Greek societies, for example, Cycladic pottery discovered there gives us a larger understanding of Greek societies, as they are widely common in these societies.
Many of the artefacts discovered at Akrotiri range from items of daily use, to ones that could have belonged to wealthy citizens, and artefacts that could have been used for religious practices. All of the artefacts uncovered tell Historians and archeologists alike, what certain aspects of Minoan life was like, mostly including their daily life, culture, religion, art and technology. No matter what the artefact is, something like a clay pot, or a stone oven, could tell us more about Minoan life than any Jewel or treasure could, however this could help
